An astronomer, astrologer, physician, philosopher, and mathematician, Omar Khayyam is all of that. From being termed as a fun-loving person to being a follower of Ancient Greek philosophy, many writers highly praise him and talk wonders about his intellectual. Remember doing algebra in school? Khayyam made an outstanding contribution in algebra by rightly pointing out that cubic equations had to be solved through other methods and not through the traditional greek method.

Another interesting fun fact about him is that, Khayyam, once received an invitation to the capital of the Seljuk Empire in Persia, to prepare a calendar that would work in an orderly way and be accurate forever. He calculated the lengths of years. He is also known to be famous for his poetry too. His work has been published in a book called " Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam" . This book was widely popular around the world and it is said that, a lot of artists decorated, illustrated and embellished the numerous publications of poems.
